Bad MLS Photos…Again…Geez!
In the age of super easy point and shoot cameras we still have to suffer through photos like these! I know the Realtors who upload these awful photos must know they area bad! I “chalk it up” to pure laziness! Find a Realtor who takes pride in the work they put out there for the whole real estate world to see!
First up! This color makes my stomach flip! Ugh…
Next Up! Anyone have a flashlight? TIP: Buy a flash!
Lastly! Groovy…anyone have a disc ball?!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and a Happy New Year! I took a few weeks off from my blogging to just relax…it was nice while it lasted. I’m back to the work of real estate and I’m sorry to say Bad MLS Photos are back and back with a vengence! I would have hoped that some agents would have “take better MLS photos in 2012” on their resolution list, but sad to say NOPE!
Enjoy the 1st edition of Bad MLS Photos of 2012:
Start the year off with a little lean to the left…and a little lean to the right (I think agents take these fromt the driver seats!)
So much wrong here! Paint…paint…paint AND what’s the focal? Geezzzz
Parkey….and a poochie….folks while we love our animals they do not belong in your listing photos….
HINT: If the closet or laundry room is not organized DO NOT feature a mess as a picture!

I was pleasantly surprised it took me a little more digging to come up with this addition of Bad MLS Photos. I thought, man! maybe the Realtors are taking notice of my tips and suggestions! As you will see, I was wrong….
Again, no home or Realtors were harmed in this edition of Bad MLS Photos.
Look closely…the couch matches the drapes…OH MY!
This house is “jacked up”…wonder if they have a spare?
This home is ready for Halloween, scary all around! At least take the photo when IT’S NOT RAINING!
Stoned!, but clean. Tip: If it’s not a selling point DO NOT TAKE a picture of it!
Here are a few tips to NOT have Bad MLS photos:
- Proof the picture your Realtor takes BEFORE they are uploaded.
- Toilet seats down!
- No trash cans or cleaning supplies in view.
- All animal items put away.
- Take pictures either morning or after 5pm, the sun is less harsh.

No homes were harmed in this post, although some feelings may have been. I still stand amazed about real estate photos. To get a new listing on the market, the photo taking takes me the longest. On an average size home I will take more than 75 photos. I think it’s always important to update the home’s photosas the seasons change. Keep your home’s photos fresh and inviting! In the digital age of real estate it’s your home’s ‘first impression.’
There following Lousy Listing Photos were found today on the MLS of a name-less city in the south:
This front view made it through winter and summer…hmmm wonder how long it’s been on the market?

You can go up..you can go down…but make up your mind!
Are we highlighting the door or the big screen TV here?
This photo says…STOP…FIRE…BUSY CORNER, but I don’t think it says buy me!
Always demand not just good listing photos, but ones that stand out and stand out for the right reasons!

Real Estate photography does take a special eye that these agents just didn’t have it, I guess! Geez!
I’m guessing they were in a hurry!
Dogs are cute, don’t get me wrong, but come on! Non-pet lovers need not schedule showing.

With the use of the Internet for real estate marketing, your home’s photos must be good…demand it from your agent!
