The Official Movie Poster for 'Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay' Starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

This year's edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival is quickly approaching and the official entries in the fest are getting busy releasing posters and trailers. The official poster for Star Cinema's Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay has just been released. The poster features the main characters from the film led by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. The setting's on the insides of what looks like a church with a funeral wake ongoing.

The film takes on the Filipino superstitious belief that you can't immediately go home after attending a wake without having to do the 'pagpag' first. You must shake off the curse or the evil spirits before you return to your home.

Directed by Frasco Santos Mortiz, Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay stars Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Shaina Magdayao, Paulo Avelino, Matet De Leon, and Miles Ocampo.

Pagpag: Tagalog Movie Starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

Pagpag is an upcoming Filipino film starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. It's a teen suspense-horror-thriller film inspired by a well-known superstitious belief wherein one is discouraged of going straight back home after attending a funeral. It is believed that if you do, you will bring with you a curse or some evil spirits into your own home.

With that said, you have to pagpag or shake off the curse or evil spirits before you head back home. Since Pagpag is an official entry in the 2013 edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival, it will be released on December 25, 2013, the day the festival kicks off. The film is directed by Frasco Mortiz. It was produced by Skylight Films, Star Cinema and Regal Films. Joining Padilla and Bernardo in the cast are Paulo Avelino, Nikki Gil, Agot Isidro, John Estrada, Manilyn Reynes, Miles Ocampo, CJ Navato, Michelle Vito, Dominic Roque, Janus del Prado, Clarence Delgado and Bembol Rocco.
