Director Gil Portes is making a remake of his 1980 classic film Miss X, according to an article from the magazine Pang-Masa by the Philippine Star. The film which originally starred Vilma Santos and Mark Gil was released in 1980 to positive acclaim. It's considered by many to be one of Vilma Santos' best film appearance as an actress.
The original film was written by Ricardo Lee and Gil Portes himself. The classic drama film was shot on location in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It was released on February 22, 1980. It also featured the theme song Dito Ba? as sung by singer Kuh Ledesma. The song was written by George Canseco and arranged by Armando Trivino.
The original also starred Max Van Os. It carried the tag lines "She was desired. She was abused. She was damned." and "A true story. Pilipinang illegally recruited. Biktima sa Amsterdam."

The remake which will start filming soon later this year will star Kris Bernal and frequent co-star Aljur Abrenica. Gil Portes will return to the director's chair. The production team will reportedly fly soon to Amsterdam to start shooting the film. No release date has been announced yet.
